  • OVERVIEW

    Harry’s Guest House in Capitol Hill is seeking a housekeeper/coordinator to join our cleaning team. This is a hybrid role where you will be checking in guests as well as turning over both units of our two-unit boutique accommodations. You would be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the property between guest stays. This includes tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, changing linens, vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting furniture, and restocking amenities. Additionally, you would be tasked with communicating with guests regarding their stay and reporting any damages or maintenance issues to the property owner or manager.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Communicate with team members to identify needs of the Guest House.
    • Implement cleaning and preparation protocols to guarantee the optimal condition of the guest house between guest stays, maintaining a standard of excellence in cleanliness and presentation.
    • Facilitate the seamless check-in process for guests, ensuring a welcoming and efficient arrival experience.
    • Engage proactively with guests, consistently seeking feedback and addressing inquiries to ensure a personalized and high-quality stay exceeding guest expectations.
    • Laundering linens and towels, identifying and removing stains.
    • Cleaning and stocking bathrooms.
    • Notifying owners of necessary repairs.
    • Collecting and disposing of trash.
    • Assisting guests when necessary.
    • Pressing linens and towels
    • Properly cleaning upholstered furniture.

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to manage your time efficiently.
    • Work well unsupervised.
    • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
    • Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
    • High school diploma.
    • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with hotel guests.
    • Hard worker.

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS

    • Basic understanding of professional cooking with at least two years of previous saut station experience.
    • Must have the requisite food handling permit and a thorough knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling practices.
    • Must be able to read, understand, and execute food preparation recipes.
    • Ability to work effectively on a team and independently.
    • Possess a strong commitment to quality service and dedication to furthering culinary knowledge.
    • Ability to work weekends and evenings

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
    • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
    • This role will require nights and weekends, and flexibility in schedule to accommodate business needs
    • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the restaurant to other
    • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
    • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as required.
