Outstanding in the Field aims to connect diners to the origins of their food while celebrating the hardworking hands that feed us: chefs, farmers, fisherpeople, cheesemakers, vintners, brewers and many more. On July 6th we’re honored to be welcomed into the field kitchen!

Just 30 minutes outside Seattle on Puget Sound, you’ll find some of the best sightseeing in Island County, from charming towns to seaside views to scenic farmland. The Organic Farm School teaches aspiring farmers everything you can’t learn online – like how an especially wet spring doesn’t care about that crop plan in your spreadsheet, or what it means to give up that struggling carrot crop and replant something new late in the season.
Farming is hard work, but the work of learning to farm is even harder. Through hands-on education, beginning farmers become better farmers at this school on Whidbey Island. We’ll learn more about their work as we feast in fields of grains, legumes, vegetables and herbs.

Due to the nature of the events, no refunds or credits will be given if the Participant is unable to attend. However, tickets can be transferred to someone else. Please contact us at reservations@outstandinginthefield.com with the new guest’s information at least 24 hours prior to the event, or tell the guests using your reservation to give your name at arrival. Transferring funds for your tickets is your responsibility. In the case of an event being postponed due to circumstances beyond Outstanding in the Field’s control, Outstanding in the Field will reschedule said event and all purchases will be honored for the rescheduled future event date.
